Key fob replacement
If your fob is lost, cracked, water-damaged or simply stopped working, Precision Lock & Key can supply a replacement and program it to your vehicle where the vehicle supports it. Because we come to you, the whole process can be handled in your driveway or parking lot.
Remote programming
A fob that locks and unlocks the doors usually has to be paired with the vehicle's computer. When you get a new remote, or when an old one loses its connection, programming restores that link. We can program replacement remotes and, in many cases, additional ones.
Smart keys and push-to-start
Smart keys let you unlock the vehicle and start it at the push of a button without taking the key out of your pocket. They are also the most vehicle-specific type of key. Support for replacement and programming varies by make, model and year, so call us with your vehicle details and we will tell you what we can do.
Fob not working? Check these first
- Battery: a weak coin battery is a very common cause of a fob that stops responding
- Spare fob: if a second fob works, the problem is probably the first one and not the vehicle
- Vehicle battery: a weak vehicle battery can cause confusing symptoms
If the fob still will not work, it may need replacement or reprogramming. That is where we can help. You may also need a new key if the metal key is lost; see car key replacement.
